Shipbuilding contract for four units of DP2, Accommodation/Construction barges with NGV Tech Sdn Bhd, Malaysia..

Nordic Maritime Pte Ltd has entered into a shipbuilding contract with a Malaysian shipyard, NGV Tech Sdn Bhd, for building a total of 4 units of Accommodation/Construction barges (Accommodation Barges).

The first unit for 300-men, DP2 Accommodation Barge was finalized in March 2008 for Nordic International Limited (a joint venture between Nordic Maritime Pte Ltd and Sinwa Limited) and her delivery from shipyard is expected by 31 July 2009.

Soon after, the second deal was signed in April 2008 for Nordic Maritime Pte Ltd for another 300-men DP2 Accommodation barge, for delivery by 30 September 2009. Meanwhile, this second unit is already committed on a Sale Contract upon her delivery between Nordic Maritime and Straits Offshore Ltd, a subsidiary of B+H Management Ltd.

The third and fourth contracts were signed on 27 June 2008 for Nordic Maritime for two units of 400-men, DP2 Accommodation barges, with a modified ship-shaped design, for delivery by end June 2010 and end Sept 2010 respectively.
